The term imperialism is used to describe the expansion of dominance and power of a nation by the means of direct geographical acquisition or by indirect control of political matters over weaker territories (Rajeev, 2011).In a broader perspective with respect to the American Empire, it is the power, authority, and influence that the US imposes on its neighbouring countries.
